This shade can suit people who want a muted background for a product shot, video, or uncluttered workspace. Before using it as a cleaning aid, have a soft screen cloth ready; the display shows an even color while you wipe, but it does not remove marks for you.
How to use Brown Screen
- Open Brown Screen to show the preset color, #A52A2A. Select Reset to return to the original color after making changes.
- For a different shade, choose a color under Quick colors, or select Choose a custom color. Use Color picker, HEX, RGB, HSL, Hue, Saturation, and Lightness to set a custom color. Copy HEX, Share color, and Copy value manually provide ways to reuse the selected color.
- Select Fullscreen for a larger color-only view. To leave it, use Exit fullscreen. For wiping the display, turn on Cleaning mode; touches are ignored, and you can press and hold for 2 seconds to exit.
- Under Screen light, adjust Display brightness or use the sleep timer options Off, 5 min, 15 min, 30 min, and 60 min. To add a frame, turn on Ring light frame and adjust Frame width, Warmth, and Brightness.
- To save an image, choose an Image format (PNG, JPEG, or WEBP), select a Resolution or Custom dimensions, enter Width (px) and Height (px) if needed, then select Download image.
When to use it
- Cleaning a display: Use Cleaning mode to avoid accidental touches while wiping the screen. A White Screen can make smudges easier to notice, while a Black Screen can help reveal dust.
- Making a warm photo backdrop: Fill a laptop or monitor with a calm, earthy color behind a small product or object.
- Setting a video background: Use the solid color as a simple visual background when the display is in the camera’s view.
- Adding soft ambient light: Show the brown color at a comfortable display brightness when you want a muted glow nearby.
- Checking a new monitor: Look over the full screen for obvious color inconsistencies. For a more focused pixel check, use the Dead Pixel Test.
- Creating a focus-friendly workspace: Keep a single subdued color on screen when you want fewer visual distractions than a busy desktop.
- Saving a matching background: Download a solid-color image for a slide, layout, or other project that needs the same brown shade.
Tips for a better result
For an even view, use Fullscreen and inspect the display from the position where you plan to work. If you are cleaning, Cleaning mode helps prevent touches from changing the screen while you wipe; use a cloth suitable for your display.
Screen light controls affect how the color appears on this page. The HEX value and downloaded image remain exact even when Display brightness, Warmth, or Brightness changes the on-screen appearance. For a saved color, copy the HEX value or share the color before leaving the page.
When creating an image, choose a preset size that fits your use, or select Custom dimensions and enter the pixel width and height. The allowed dimensions are 16–8192 pixels per side, with a maximum of 33,177,600 pixels total. 8K images need substantial memory and may not download successfully on some devices; the image is created in your browser.
Limits of Brown Screen
A solid color is a quick visual aid, not a monitor diagnostic or calibration system. The display’s own brightness and color settings affect what you see, so this screen cannot confirm accurate color reproduction, measure brightness, or determine whether hardware needs repair. For a full check, use a dedicated test such as Monitor Test; for persistent display problems, consult the manufacturer or a qualified repair provider.
Also, the brown backdrop is only useful for the particular appearance you need: it does not replace a lighting setup for professional photography, nor does it test every kind of pixel fault. If your goal is to identify a specific display issue, choose a test designed for that issue rather than relying on one solid shade.
