Reception staff, streamers, event hosts, and anyone setting up a spare monitor can tailor the scene to the room before leaving it on display. Choose the screen you plan to use, then consider the viewing distance and how much of the display the badge should occupy.
How to use DVD Logo Screensaver
- Select Start to begin the animation. Open Scene settings to adjust the display.
- Set Logo size and Speed. The displayed starting values are 96 and 1. Choose Color for the badge and Background for the backdrop.
- Turn on Change color on collision if you want the badge to change color when it reaches the screen boundary. Choose low, medium, or high under Quality.
- Select Fullscreen or press F to enter fullscreen. Select Hide controls to clear the controls from view.
- Press Space to pause or resume. Select Reset or press R to reset the scene. Select Exit or press Escape to leave fullscreen. Tap the fullscreen scene or press Tab to show the dismissible exit controls again.
When to use it
- Before a return window closes: Use the moving badge as a visual preview of how a screen looks in everyday viewing, while remembering this is not a diagnostic test.
- At a reception desk: Put an unused display to work while visitors wait.
- Between stream segments: Keep a spare screen visually active while preparing for the next part of a broadcast.
- Before an event or open house: Set up an animated display for guests without adding sound to the room.
- In a shared workspace: Use a monitor that is temporarily not needed for work as a simple ambient display.
- While choosing a display layout: Preview badge size and color against the background from the distance viewers will stand.
Tips for a comfortable ambient display
For a low-key scene, try a smaller Logo size or slower Speed. If the badge is hard to notice from across the room, try increasing either setting. Check the Color and Background together on the actual display, since a combination that looks clear up close may be harder to distinguish at a distance.
Use Change color on collision when you want the badge’s color to vary at the boundaries; leave it off for a consistent color. Try the Quality options and keep the one that suits your setup. Once the scene is arranged, Hide controls gives you a cleaner view. If the browser keeps its bars visible in fullscreen, an Exit button remains on screen.
DVD Logo Screensaver uses an original DVD-inspired badge, not an imported DVD logo. The badge bounces off the screen edges, and the animation does not create a score for corner hits.
Limits of DVD Logo Screensaver
This is a decorative moving scene, not a way to check for dead pixels, measure display performance, or diagnose a monitor. For a more focused visual check, use a dedicated tool such as Monitor Test or Dead Pixel Test.
The scene has no sound and does not change your computer’s or display’s sleep and power settings. Hidden or offscreen scenes pause, and reduced-motion settings start the scene paused, so resume manually when you want it to continue. For color accuracy or hardware problems, a calibration device or the display manufacturer’s support is a better next step than judging the screen from this animation.
