Make a wallpaper for a particular screen size, or start with a preset resolution and adjust the design from there. The preview is small; the full-size image is generated when you select Download image, so choose your dimensions and layers before exporting.
All image creation happens locally in your browser. Text stays plain local text in a system font, with no uploads, external images, or remote fonts involved.
How to use Wallpaper Maker
- Choose an Output resolution preset—such as 1920x1080, 1080x1920, or 1080x1080—or select Custom and enter values in Output width (pixels) and Output height (pixels).
- Set Primary color, then choose a Background fill: solid, linear, or radial. For a gradient, adjust Gradient angle (degrees), or use Gradient preset with Sea or Dusk. Use Add stop and Remove stop to edit gradient stops.
- To add texture, select Include pattern layer and choose a Pattern type: dots, stripes, grid, diagonal, waves, or tiles. Adjust Pattern size (output pixels), Spacing (pixels), Stroke (pixels), Rotation (degrees), and Pattern offset (pixels) as needed.
- For lettering, select Include text layer, enter Wallpaper text (local only), then choose Wallpaper text color, System font, Text size (pixels), and Text alignment. Set Text X (%) and Text Y (%) to position it.
- Use Decorative circles (0–12) to add shapes. Select an Image format—PNG, JPG, or WEBP—then choose Download image to generate and save the full-size wallpaper. Generate from seed and Copy base gradient CSS are also available.
Select Fullscreen to view the design larger. Press F to enter fullscreen, Escape to leave it, and R to reset. In fullscreen, Exit fullscreen, Hide controls, and Exit are available as shown.
When to use it
- Fitting a wallpaper to a specific display: Set a custom width and height, or pick a preset that matches a desktop or phone screen.
- Making a portrait phone background: Start with 1080x1920, then position a short text element with Text X (%) and Text Y (%).
- Creating a simple desktop backdrop: Use a solid fill or a linear gradient for a clean background without extra imagery.
- Adding visual texture: Turn on a pattern layer when a plain color feels too empty, and adjust its spacing or size.
- Building a background around a short message: Add a local text layer and set its alignment, font, size, color, and position.
- Trying color combinations: Change Primary color, gradient settings, and pattern options before downloading a finished version.
- Making a reusable gradient base: Copy base gradient CSS when you need the gradient itself; it does not include patterns, text, or shapes.
Tips for a better wallpaper
Keep the design readable at the size where you plan to use it. Text alignment and position can help leave open space around icons, while a restrained pattern can add detail without taking over the background. The Wallpaper Maker also offers Gradient preset options Sea and Dusk as quick starting points.
For precise positioning, try Text X (%) and Text Y (%) and adjust Text size (pixels) after choosing the output dimensions. Equal-position gradient stops create hard edges, so spread stops out if you want a smoother transition. Use Generate from seed to make a seeded variation, or Copy base gradient CSS to copy the base gradient description.
Limits and output notes
The preview is not the full-resolution export: the full image is generated only when you select Download image. Output can be up to 33,177,600 pixels, while 8K output depends on your device. If an especially large export is slow or does not complete, try a smaller resolution.
JPG and WEBP can alter pixel values, so choose PNG when preserving the generated values matters. Copy base gradient CSS describes only the base gradient; it excludes the pattern layer, text, and decorative shapes. For the same reason, a wallpaper with those extra layers cannot be recreated from that CSS alone.
This is a background and wallpaper creator, not a photo editor: its text uses system fonts, and it does not use uploaded images or remote fonts. For a plain single-color background, the Solid Color Background Generator may be a simpler starting point.
