Creators, display owners, and anyone working in a dim room can use this page in different ways. Before cleaning a device, have a soft screen-safe cloth ready; for a backdrop, set up the camera and subject before filling the display with green.
How to use Green Screen
- Open the page and use the green field as shown. Choose Green under Quick colors if you have changed to another color. You can also use Color picker and enter or adjust a value with HEX, RGB, HSL, Hue, Saturation, or Lightness.
- Select Fullscreen for a larger, uncluttered color field. Select Exit fullscreen to return to the page controls.
- For wiping the display, select Cleaning mode. Touches are ignored while it is active; press and hold for 2 seconds to exit.
- To save a backdrop, use Download a solid-color image. Choose PNG, JPEG, or WEBP under Image format, then select a size under Resolution or choose Custom dimensions and enter Width (px) and Height (px). Select Download image.
- Use Copy HEX to copy the color value, Share color to share it, or Reset to return the color to its default. Copy value manually is available if you need to copy the value yourself.
When to use it
- Make a simple chroma-key backdrop: Place a monitor or tablet behind a small subject for a green background in a photo or video setup.
- Check a new display: Look for green subpixels that appear dark or otherwise different from the surrounding field while a return period is still open.
- Inspect an existing screen: A uniform green field can make a pixel that behaves differently easier to notice. For a broader pixel check, try the Dead Pixel Test.
- Clean a display: Cleaning mode keeps touches from interrupting the color while you wipe the screen.
- Add a little ambient light: Use the display as a green light source when a colored glow suits a room, video call, or creative setup.
- Prepare a reusable green graphic: Download a solid-color image for a project that needs a consistent green fill.
Tips for a more useful result
For a Green Screen backdrop, keep the display and subject evenly lit and avoid reflections on the screen. The color on camera can look different from the page, so check a test shot before recording. Keep the subject far enough from the display to reduce green spill on its edges.
Screen light includes Display brightness, Sleep timer, and Ring light frame controls. Sleep timer options are Off, 5 min, 15 min, 30 min, and 60 min. Frame width and Warmth are available for the ring light frame. Brightness and warmth change only the on-page appearance; the HEX value and downloaded images stay exact.
For a file, choose dimensions that suit its intended use rather than automatically selecting the largest option. The available presets are HD · 1280 × 720, Full HD · 1920 × 1080, QHD · 2560 × 1440, 4K UHD · 3840 × 2160, and 8K UHD · 7680 × 4320. Custom dimensions can be from 16 to 8192 pixels per side, with a maximum of 33,177,600 pixels total.
Limits and when to use another approach
A green field is a visual aid, not a hardware diagnosis. A pixel that looks unusual may need checking with other colors or a dedicated test, and a screen that looks uniform here is not proof that every pixel is working correctly. The perceived brightness and color also depend on your display and its settings.
For accurate color matching or professional display calibration, use appropriate calibration equipment rather than relying on a browser color field. Large image exports, especially 8K, need substantial device memory and may fail on some devices. Images stay in your browser.
