Photographers, video-call users, and anyone checking a new monitor can use the same flat color without arranging a physical backdrop. Before wiping a display, turn on Cleaning mode; for a visual check, look at the screen from different angles and compare more than one color.
How to use Mint Screen
- Choose a color. The screen starts with mint. Under Quick colors, select Mint or another preset, or choose Choose a custom color and edit it with Color picker, HEX, RGB, HSL, Hue, Saturation, and Lightness. Reset returns the color to its initial value; Copy HEX copies its code, and Share color provides a way to share it.
- Use a full-screen view or clean the display. Select Fullscreen for a larger color-only view, and use Exit fullscreen to return. Switch on Cleaning mode before wiping: touches are ignored, and pressing and holding for 2 seconds exits the mode.
- Adjust the on-screen appearance. Under Screen light, use Display brightness, Sleep timer, Ring light frame, Frame width, Warmth, and Brightness as needed. The Sleep timer choices are Off, 5 min, 15 min, 30 min, and 60 min.
- Save a solid-color image. Select Download a solid-color image, choose PNG, JPEG, or WEBP, then choose a listed resolution or Custom dimensions. For custom sizing, enter Width (px) and Height (px), then select Download image. Copy value manually is available if you need to copy the color value yourself.
When to use it
- Cleaning a laptop or monitor: Cleaning mode helps avoid accidental touches while you wipe the display.
- Checking a new screen: A flat color can make visible pixel irregularities easier to notice before a return window closes. For a more systematic check across colors, try the Dead Pixel Test.
- Providing a video-call background: A single mint tone gives your camera a simple, uncluttered color behind you.
- Photographing a small product: Use the display as a colored backdrop when you want a soft green tone behind an item.
- Adding gentle colored light: Put the display nearby as a convenient source of mint-colored light, then adjust the page appearance to suit the space.
- Making a matching background file: Download a solid-color image for use in a project that needs a specific size or format.
- Taking a short visual break: A quiet, uniform color can provide a simple screen to focus on between tasks.
Tips for using the mint color screen
- For a useful pixel check, look at the display on more than one preset color. A mark that is hard to see on mint may stand out on another color.
- Keep the physical display brightness at a comfortable level when using the page as a light source; the result also depends on the screen and its own settings.
- If you need to preserve the exact color value, use Copy HEX or Copy value manually. The page notes that brightness and warmth change the screen’s appearance, while the HEX value and downloaded images stay exact.
- For custom image dimensions, stay within 16–8192 pixels per side and 33,177,600 pixels total. Images are created in your browser and stay there.
Limits to keep in mind
Mint Screen displays a color; it does not diagnose a display fault or professionally calibrate a monitor. What you see depends on the screen and its display settings, so use it as a first visual check rather than proof that a panel is working correctly. If you find a persistent issue, a dedicated test such as the Monitor Test or the manufacturer's support is a better next step.
The on-screen color can look different from one device to another. The image download offers PNG, JPEG, and WEBP formats and several resolutions, but large exports depend on available device memory; 8K may fail on some devices. For a more controlled match to a particular printed or production color, use appropriate color-management equipment and software.
